VTCT – IIHHT Level 3 Teaching Certificate in Baby Massage

Introduction:
This qualification is available to qualified massage therapists or health professionals, e.g. midwives, health visitors, or qualified child carers. The qualification will entitle candidates to teach the art of baby massage to parents, either in small groups or on a one-to- one basis.
Baby massage is an art, which encourages loving communication between parents & their babies, encouraging positive bonding & stimulation of a child’s development.
Baby massage has developed in popularity, & baby massage classes are becoming a regular feature in GP surgeries, children health centres & hospitals.
There is a pre-requisite requirement of units VR02/74 to this qualification, which can be completed simultaneously.
VR02 – Support Health, Safety & Security in the Workplace
VR74 – Support Employment Standards
Course content:
VR56 – Provide & demonstrate baby massage
Areas of study:
- Effects & benefits of baby massage
- Contra-indications to baby massage
- Growth & development of babies from birth – 18 months
- Aftercare advice following baby massage
- Hygiene & safety precautions
- Suitable mediums for baby massage
- Ethics for baby massage
- Professional consultation & Record Keeping
- Practical application of baby massage techniques
- Related anatomy & physiology
- Health, safety & legislation.
Students are required to complete case study treatments in addition to theory tasks, practical & theory assessments.
All students to wear professional salon work wear for class attendance & assessments.

This intensive course is delivered over 1 day plus 1 final assessment day (9.30-5.00)

Course cost:
The complete cost of the course is £200.00 plus £70.00 Assessment Fees
This includes full private tuition & certification fees.
A non-refundable deposit of £100.00 is required to secure your place.
An additional £70 assessment fees will be applicable for candidates not holding units VR02/74
An additional lifetime registration fee of £15.00 will be required for students not previously registered with VTCT.
Course Certification & Insurance:
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the VTCT – IIHHT Level 3 Teaching Certificate in Baby Massage
You will be able to apply for full Professional & Public Indemnity Insurance to enable you to start working in Professional Practice straight away.
Successful Candidates will also receive the Healing Hands, School of Natural Therapies Diploma in Baby Massage Instruction.
