Introduction:

This course is designed for students who wish to achieve their professionally recognised qualification quickly. It will be delivered intensively & will require much dedication & substantial home study.

Nail technology deals with the application, repair, maintenance & removal of artificial nail structures.

This qualification is suitable for those employed in beauty establishments or others who wish to acquire this particular expertise, which is also undertaken in a variety of specialist workplaces referred to as “Nail Bars”.

Pre-requisite Entry requirements:

There is a pre-requisite requirement of units VR02/74 to this qualification, which can be completed simultaneously.

VR02 – Support Health, Safety & Security in the Workplace

VR74 – Support Employment Standards

There is also the pre-requisite of a recognised qualification in Manicure

Course content:

M10 – Provide Nail Technology Service

Areas of study:

• Introduction to Nail Technology
• Contra-indications
• Contra-actions
• Aftercare advice
• Product & equipment knowledge
• Basic Nail Technology Chemistry
• Nail Tips
• The Acrylic System
• Professional Consultation & Record Keeping
• Application Methods using Acrylic

-         including “French Application” & Natural Nail Overlays

• Maintenance, Repair & Re-balancing
• Removal of Artificial Nail Enhancements

• Health, Safety & Legislation
• Related Anatomy & Physiology

Students are required to complete case study treatments in addition to theory tasks, practical & theory assessments.

All students are to wear professional salon work wear for class attendance & assessments.

This intensive course is 3 full days plus 1 assessment day over 6 weeks

Course cost:

The cost of the course is £370.00 plus £50.00 assessment fees

This includes full private tuition & certification fees.

A non-refundable deposit of £185.00 is required to secure your place.

Students will be required to purchase an acrylic kit in order to complete case study requirements. Kits can be purchased at the centre if required. Please inform us of your requirements at course application.

Option 1: £86.50

Option 2: £50.00

Please note that these are approximate costs & may fluctuate slightly

An additional lifetime registration fee of £15.00 will be required for students not previously registered with VTCT

Course Certification & Insurance:

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the VTCT – IHBC Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology

You will be able to apply for full Professional & Public Indemnity Insurance to enable you to start working in Professional Practice straight away.

Successful Candidates will also receive the Healing Hands, School of Natural Therapies Certificate in Nail Technology.
